Chef Michel and Jean-Pierre Dumas
Hello, my name is Michel Dumas, and welcome to our blog! I have over 50 years of experience and was trained as a chef in France before moving to Canada in the 1970s, where I worked as a sous-chef at the Windsor Hotel in Montreal. Since my retirement in 2013, I’ve been sharing my recipes and culinary knowledge. It all started on YouTube, almost by accident. At the time, I simply wanted to show my mother how to cook a dish. My son Jean-Pierre filmed the video and uploaded it so we could send her the link. After just a few days, the video had already reached 50 views… and that’s when everything began. Very quickly, we decided to post videos every week, and a real culinary partnership grew between us. Today, this project has become a true collaboration, where each of us brings something different: experience and technique on one side, creativity and a modern approach on the other. On this blog, you’ll find both my recipes and Jean-Pierre’s, inspired by classic French cuisine as well as our everyday cooking here in Canada. Some recipes stay true to tradition, while others are more modern or reimagined—but all are designed to be approachable, flavorful, and easy to recreate at home. Together, we’ve brought our recipes—those you see across our social media—into this blog to make them clearer, more detailed, and easier to follow and share.
